An Old Man

What do you see when you see an old man?
Do you think he’s just an old man,
Or do you see he has little time left?
What do you see when you see an old man?
Do you think you are still invincibly young,
Or do you realize he was once young like you?
What do you see when you see an old man?
Do you think he has nothing left,
Or do you see something you can learn from him?
What do you see when you see an old man?
Do you see only decadence,
Or do you see a story full of joys and scars?
I ASK YOU, as we continue to age,
What do you do when you see an old man?
Do you dismiss him as the past,
Or do you respect a fully lived life?
